the demo capture agent relies on gstreamer to work.
> gstreamer needs to be installed on the admin server in a distributed environment
This is true only when you need a demo capture agent running on that server. Should QA clusters include a real capture agent, rather than the demo code?
I was talking about the ootb box experience. Do we expect or care that users will be able to do a round trip without a real capture agent when they first install Matterhorn in a cluster? A clustered env is for advanced users anyway, so a demo capture agent isn't as needed. But the demo capture agent is included regardless in both setups, so it will fail in the distributed environment if we don't account for it.
for QA, demo isn't needed on the cluster because we have a real capture agent.
Matjaz, my understanding is that you are slammed. If you can't do this within the next few days, we'll need to address this in the docs only. which is fine but not ideal. lemme know.
I'll add instructions to the wiki.
I'm pretty sure this is done in newer versions. I'm going to resolve this.
