cp matterhorn_init_d.sh /etc/init.d/matterhorn
chkconfig matterhorn on
service matterhorn does not support chkconfig
I'm wondering if these two lines can be safely added to the general matterhorn_init_d.sh file without breaking the file for using in debian or ubuntu.
Do these lines need to be the first lines in the file? I could try and add the lines and see if it still starts (in Debian / Ubuntu).
No, these do not need to be the first lines in the file.
This will work just fine with Debian / Ubuntu. Redhat ignores the # lines which are specific to other distros just as they ignore # lines specific to it.
Ruben can you confirm that these additions do not break Debian?
Ruediger can you confirm that these additions do not break Ubuntu and CentOS?
Confirmed this doesn't break Debian nor Ubuntu
